The Lone Star Open is one of the most anticipated stop on the FLG circuit — and this year, we're going bigger than ever.
Last year, we shattered our Warhammer 40K Champs attendance record. The tables were packed, the competition was fierce, and the energy was unlike anything we'd seen before! So the only question heading into 2026 is: can we break it again? Let's find out together.

With our incredible community behind us and our TCC friends uniting the Texas scene, LSO 2026 isn't just another event — it's a statement. This is where the best players in Texas compete, where hobby craftsmanship gets the spotlight it deserves, and where thousands of passionate tabletop gamers come together under one roof to do what they love.

The Lone Star Open is also FLG's annual military appreciation event — a chance to honor and celebrate the men and women who serve. That spirit of pride and community runs through everything we do here, and it's a big part of what makes LSO unlike any other event on the calendar. Whether you're gunning for the top tables, showing off your best work, or just soaking in the atmosphere — you already know this is where you need to be.

Military Appreciation

We're honored to recognize the service members among us this weekend both veterans and those currently serving.

New for this year: Service members will pick up a special wrist-band and punch card to redeem gifts and perks from participating vendors on-site. 

If your opponent is wearing a wristband and you'd like to acknowledge their service, we encourage you to do so a simple "thank you" goes a long way.

By popular demand the Unit Patch Wall continues for its second year!

We invite all service members to bring their unit patch (color or subdued) and display it proudly as a symbol of esprit de corps for your unit, past or present. Wargaming club members are also encouraged to bring their club patch and leave their mark on this growing wall of pride.

Branch Championship — 40K Champs will feature an inter-branch competition to crown the FLG Branch Champion and claim a beautiful trophy for their branch. If you're interested in representing your branch, please reach out to your respective branch leader to get involved.

Lone Star Open Venue & Accommodations

The Lone Star Open takes place at the Marriott Dallas Allen Hotel, conveniently connected to the Watters Creek Convention Center, located at 777 Watters Creek Blvd, Allen, TX 75013.

Special Military Room Block Available

In addition to the standard FLG room block, a special discounted room rate is available exclusively for active and retired military personnel. A valid military photo ID is required at check-in to qualify for this rate. If identification cannot be provided upon arrival, the reservation will be adjusted to the standard flexible rate.

Event Registration

Once you purchase your desired ticket and receive an e-mail confirmation, you will be registered for this event. Many games and tournament organizers (TO’s) use Best Coast Pairings (aka BCP) to run events and will e-mail you a unique access code to add yourself to the player roster. Codes and further instructions are expected to be sent out a few weeks prior to the event date, if applicable.

Always refer to your player packet for specific or unique instructions beyond purchasing your ticket.

In-person check-in is not required at this event. The FLG Events registration desk is where you pick up any merch orders and event exclusive swag that’s included with your ticket.

Visitors are welcome to come in and spectate at no cost. We always ask to be respectful of our players who are competing on the table-tops.
